Never Count Them Chickens

I've made the kind of mistake I haven't made in a while. I've counted fowl before they were free of their shells. No fun no fun.

Why do we feel the need to count chickens anyway? Why be anxious about it and jump the gun? Can't we just let them be and what we get is what we get? Trying to forecast the future is dumb. And building any type of foundation on that forecast is even worse. Bah, no patience.

Its a good lesson. I just feel stupid. Great Buddhist and Taoist masters agree: What ever happens, happens. If you can let life unfold on its own without trying to push the river you'll have more peace and happiness.
